The sweaty underbelly of what was called elsewhere grunge had been performed and consumed in the crowded share houses, squats and public bars of most major Australian cities since the mid-1980s. Bands such as The Scientists, The Beasts of Bourbon, Kim Salmon and the Surrealists, The James Baker Experience, Blue Ruin, The Hoodoo Gurus, Munroe's Fur, Lubricated Goat, THUG, Died Pretty, Box the Jesuit, Cosmic Psychos, The Butcher Shop, King Snake Roost, feedtime were just some of the brilliance around at the time.
